Tarmac NZ successfully completed the Stage 3 upgrade of Waimate North Road for the Far North District Council (FNDC). To deliver the project efficiently, Tarmac NZ deployed multiple civil teams concurrently. Our drainage crews executed critical stormwater infrastructure upgrades, installing a network of 375mm and 450mm diameter pipelines at varying depths. Working simultaneously alongside our pavement and earthworks teams, this multi-front operational approach minimised regional transit delays and ensured a high-quality, fully compliant handover back to the council.

Tarmac NZ successfully completed the $1.77M Waipapa Road widening contract for the Far North District Council, transforming 1.2km (12,550m²) of roadway into a safer, multi-modal transport corridor. Our team managed the entire project footprint, introducing innovative in-house traffic control to minimise motorist disruption. The scope required moving 4,500m³ of earth to lower the road profile for 100-year flood protection, alongside installing 1.2km of 450mm concrete stormwater culverts at a rapid pace of 100m per day. Pavement construction involved importing 10,000m³ of aggregate, full milling and stabilisation over two days, and a precision finish. The project concluded with a premium 2-coat bitumen seal and line marking, delivering a smooth, high-quality asset back to FNDC.

Tarmac NZ successfully completed the reconstruction and expansion of the Rodney College car park, delivering a safer, more functional environment for staff, students, and visitors. The scope of works involved civil infrastructure and premium surfacing, including the installation of new concrete kerbing, raised grassed features, and new pedestrian footpaths around the classrooms. Our team constructed a new car parking area by the upper courts before overlaying 1,945m² of new and existing parking surfaces with high-durability TNZ Mix 10 asphalt. The project concluded with professional line marking to deliver a crisp, fully operational asset back to the college.

Tarmac NZ successfully delivered a comprehensive design-and-build package for Tautoro Primary School, encompassing a complete car park overhaul and sports court resurfacing. The project involved relocating school fencing, executing earthworks, and installing a new electrical Point of Attachment (POA). Our civil team constructed a strong pavement foundation by importing GAP40 aggregate, cement stabilising, levelling, and compacting the base. The car park was finished with a durable 2-coat chip seal and crisp line markings. Additionally, we upgraded the school's sports facilities with a premium 25mm Mix 10 asphalt overlay and fresh court markings, creating a safer environment for staff and students alike.

Tarmac NZ successfully delivered 65,000m² of first-coat chip sealing across seven Kaipara District Council sites on behalf of principal contractor HEB Construction. Executed over a four-month seasonal window between February and May, the regional contract included a diverse range of site footprints, scaling from 2,500m² to 26,000m². Showcasing outstanding operational efficiency and logistics management, the Tarmac NZ sealing crew completed the entire multi-site contract in just 23 working days, delivering high-quality, durable asset protection on time and on budget.

Tarmac NZ successfully reconstructed the Kaitaia Airport taxiway for Far North Holdings, showcasing our ability to deliver high-spec aviation infrastructure under extreme time constraints. The project required meticulous civil planning to ensure all structural stabilisation, survey controls, and asphalt works occurred between scheduled Air New Zealand flights. Our scope included 250mm deep subgrade stabilisation, strict multi-stage height surveying, and a structural 45mm AC14 asphalt binder course. The critical final phase required our paving crew to mill out 70m³ of temporary pavement and lay a permanent 45mm AC14 asphalt finish to the runway and taxiway areas within a strict 20-hour weekend window, leaving commercial flight timetables completely undisturbed.
